Colour filter less 3-panel HTPS projector
In the 3-panel HTPS projection system that does not use a colour filter, incident white light is split into three primary colours by dichroic mirrors/filters before going to the x-cube core of the light engine. Each primary colour passes through an HTPS LV sandwiched between two-sheet polarisers in the same way as the traditional AMLCD. A dichroic x-cube is used to combine the three colours immediately before the projection lens as illustrated in Figure 19.7.
