HDMI connectors

There are two types of HDMI connectors:

● Type A connector (Figure 16.14) carries only a single TMDS link and is therefore only permitted to carry signals up to 165 Mpixels/s.

● Type B connector (Figure 16.15) with the dual-link capability which supports signals greater than 165Mpixels/s.

The pin assignment for HDMI connectors types A and B are listed in Tables 16.2 and 16.3. Computability with DVI is essential and this is out- lined in Appendix 6.
