TROUBLESHOOTING COMPRESSORS
There are several common compressor problems. Table 10.1 lists these problems and their solutions.
The illustrations following the tables show how a refrigerator is repaired in a sequential manner. This should aid in troubleshooting. Figure 10.1 shows the refrigerator’s refrigeration system and where various pressures exist. Figures 10.2 through 10.21 relate the troubleshooting and repairing of the refrigerator. Figures 10.22 through 10.29 show important materials and devices as they are electrically connected. Figure 10.30 through 10.33 illustrate the compressor-condenser components and their locations in a home air conditioning unit.
