The velocity of sound increases with an increase in temperature; therefore, the effect of an increase in temperature with an increase in height is a downward bending of the sound
path. This illustrates why feedback modes change as air conditioners, heating, or crowds dramatically change the temperature of a room (Figure 3.7).
