The mini-DV cassette package measures 66 X 48 X 12.2 mm, and is illustrated in Figure 22.5b. ID terminals 1\u20134 may merely connect to internal resistors to indicate to the deck\u2019s syscon details such as tape type, capacity and grade. Some MiniDV cassettes have a small memory chip known as <i>memory in cassette <\/i>(<i>MI<\/i><i>C<\/i>). The chip is an I2C- controlled EEPROM that functions as serial data ports for read and write.
