Certification for the Electricity and Electronics Field:identifying Certifications requirements

identifying Certifications requirements

There are many certification exams. Some certifications available to students and technicians starting in electronics and their requirements are listed here:

The associate-Level Cet exam is available to students in electronics or technician programs. This exam focuses only on basic electronics and is part of the full credit CET exam. The exam is multiple choice  and covers basic electronics, math, DC and AC circuits, transistors, and troubleshooting. It must be passed with  a score of 75% or better. A successful associate CET receives a wall certificate valid for four years and is eligible to join ISCET, the International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians. The Associate CET certification expires four years after being issued.

The electronics systems associate (esa) exam is available to anyone interested in electronics, including students and technicians. The ESA exam is a four-part exam that covers DC, AC, semiconductors, and digital. Certificates are awarded following the pass- ing of each of the four parts of the exam. The Associate CET is awarded after all the four certificates are earned. An advantage of the ESA program over the Associate level CET is that the ESA certificates are issued for life, but they are subject to the registration requirements.

To achieve the Journeyman-Level Cet for be- coming a fully certified technician, the technician must complete the following:

● Passing the Associate-Level Electronics test (ISCET or ETA-I) or acquiring the ISCET Associate Level Electronics Certification through the ISCET ESA program; and

● Passing one of the following Journeyman- Level CET exams:

● Communications

● Computer

● Consumer

● Industrial

● Medical
